Mila Yevelev!!

Mila Yevelev

Mila has been with us before, during, and after her pregnancy with her son, Dov (which is hard to do!). We’ve seen her get strong and get her first pull-ups! She is also big participant at our events and always gives it her all when she comes to WOD. We appreciate Mila’s contribution to our community. And keep hitting those PR’s girl! Learn more about Mila from the questions below.

1) When did you start CrossFitting and how did you get into it?

I’ve been Crossfitting for just over 2 years, started during the summer of 2013. As you know my husband, Sasha has been Crossfitting for 2 years prior to that and finally I gave in too 🙂 I was at first resistant to the idea, worrying about all the standard silly things like: will I look masculine, as well as injuries. I also though that weight lifting is boring, but boy was I wrong!

2) What do you like to do outside of CrossFit?

CrossFit is always my first choice of exercise, but I also try to find time to play tennis, and I am a huge fan of BURN, great class that I think got me in enough of shape to start CrossFitting. Its a mix of cardio, weights and pilates all in non-stop 1hr awesome music and heart thumping madness 😉 The rest of my time goes to my family and also “saving lives and stamping out disease” as an ER nurse.

3) How did CrossFit change your life?

Physical transformation is amazing! I am so much stronger nowadays and the compliments I get at work about my forearms are worth every drop of sweat. Definitely learned to push myself harder. Pregnancy is a vulnerable time for a woman and I feel that CrossFit helped me to stay healthy and strong through that. The community support was and is always there as well!

4) Would you rather, do “Diane” Hungover or the “De Haro Hustle” wearing a resistance chute in 60 mph winds?

Definitely “De Haro Hustle” wearing a resistance chute in 60 mph winds!!! But only because I’m still working on getting HSPU.
